Tomorrow, Gympie Regional Council crews will be building (if the weather cooperates) a pedestrian refuge island on Cogan Street, near Gympie State High School. The island will provide a safer walking and cycling passage for residents and students. Cogan Street will be closed from 6.30am - 4pm however detours will be in place. | Gympie Regional Council

Gympie Region Weather and Flooding Update from Mayor Mick Curran. 30 March 2017 - 11am Weather predictions have significantly changed overnight. The latest weather warnings have been increased based on a teleconference by the Deputy Premier and the State’s Mayors at 7.30am this morning. Winds are predicted to be 90km per hour with possible gusts in excess of 125 kph – along coastal strip – Fraser Island Cooloola Coast. Residents should secure all loose items around house and avoid travel. Gympie
