On August 27, 1994 at the ECW Arena, the landscape of sports-entertainment changed forever when ”The Franchise” Shane Douglas defeated The Tazmaniac, Dean Malenko and 2 Cold Scorpio to win a tournament to become the NWA World Heavyweight Champion.
