I had a pet squirrel named Tickles growing up and he authorized me to share this garden tip with you. If squirrels (or other critters) are munching on your tulips, try interplanting daffodils. Daffodils smell (and are) toxic to wildlife. They don’t want to munch on them or dig them up. Squirrels are especially attracted to freshly dug soil, so frequently right after you plant your fresh tulip bulbs they’ll go in and dig them up. Sometimes they eat them, sometimes they just make a mess of things.
