Aboriginal seasonal knowledge has guided people for thousands of years. Learning from these traditions helps us connect more deeply with the land we live on. Iuk (eel) season has arrived, bringing cooler weather as the days and nights even out. Unlike the Gregorian calendar, Aboriginal people base their six seasons on changes in the land, water, and sky. This is when eels begin their long journey down the Yarra (Birrarung) to the Coral Sea. To prepare, they grow larger, their eyes widen, and the
