Understanding the Abandonment Wound 💔 When someone pulls away, becomes distant, or can’t meet our needs, it can activate old pain that whispers: “I’m not enough.” “They’ll leave me.” “I can’t trust love.” Our nervous system remembers past moments of disconnection and tries to protect us, often by pushing people away before they can leave. Breath- Pouse -Ground. Instead of reacting, we choose to self-soothe, through breath, movement, and presence and remind ourselves: “I am safe in this moment.”
