This is how I carved my turnip for Halloween in the 80’s. Peeled and black. Eyes for contrast, no candles. My father used to give us the turnips he couldn’t sell, because of the quality or if they dried up or were too small, we had lots to play with but needed to take the top skin off. Have a look at my version bringing me back to 80’s Ireland!
