61 years ago today, on December 26, 1964, the only time Georgia has played on the day after Christmas in its football history, the Bulldogs defeated Texas Tech, 7-0, in the Sun Bowl, guided by first-year head coach and 32-year-old Vince Dooley. Quarterback Preston Ridlehuber was named the bowl’s MVP; All-American tackle Jim Wilson was the game’s most outstanding lineman.
