It was sanded to its aluminum-color shiny finish and painted to resemble bronze. The original was restored in 1990 and is now mounted outside of the headquarters building in Fort Dix.

Mar 20, 2023 · Monday marked 64 years since the Ultimate Weapon monument in Burlington County made its debut. It's a bronze version of an army infantryman that for decades welcomed soldiers to Fort Dix. The 14-foot tall, 3,000-pound statue served as a centerpiece in publications, a symbol of the fighting spirit of the U.S. Army.

Located in Infantry Park, the newer statue, which stands 14 feet tall and weighs over 300 pounds was unveiled in August of 1989 and continues to be a symbol of excellence at Fort Dix. Related Articles
