Stephen Rodger Waugh AO (born 2 June 1965) is an Australian former international cricketer and twin brother of cricketer Mark Waugh.

Steve Waugh was the ultimate evolved cricketer. Thrown to the wolves at 20, he flailed at bowling, sent down bouncers at Viv Richards, and tasted Ashes defeat.

The captain of one of the greatest Test sides of all time, Steve Waugh played 168 Tests for Australia, scoring 10,927 runs at an average of 51.06. He captained Australia to glory in the 1999 ICC Cricket World Cup, and scored 7,569 runs in ODIs.
