Red Rose Speedway is the second studio album by the English-American rock band Wings, although credited to " Paul McCartney and Wings". It was released through Apple Records on 4 May 1973, preceded by its lead single, the ballad "My Love".

Apr 17, 2022 · Beginning on 19 March, sessions were held at Olympic Studios in London, after which recording continued sporadically throughout the year. Glyn Johns was invited to produce the Olympic sessions, but left after only a few weeks due to disagreements with McCartney.

Apr 20, 2023 · On Red Rose Speedway, we were more rehearsed and tighter, since we’d been on the road. “So it was the first big production that we did, using Glyn Johns as a co-producer with Paul. It was meant to be a double album, and we did record more tracks than we needed. But it never came out that way.

Jul 30, 2011 · Red Rose Speedway was completed with final overdubs and mixing at EMI Studios in Abbey Road, London, in October 1972, the same month that Wings recorded ‘Live And Let Die’ at George Martin’s AIR Studios in London. During the sessions a number of unreleased songs were also recorded.

Red Rose Speedway was credited to Paul McCartney & Wings and it carried a long gestation period. Recording began in Los Angeles in March, 1972 where they worked on “Big Barn Bed”, “My Love”, “One More Kiss”, “Single Pigeon”, “When The Night”, “Loup” and the closing medley.
