The Incredible Hulk is a 2008 superhero film based on the Marvel Comics superhero of the same name. A reboot of the Hulk franchise, it is the second film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and the second installment of Phase One. The film was released on June 13, 2008.

Director Louis Leterrier introduced Samuel Sterns in The Incredible Hulk with the intention to set him up to become the main antagonist as the Leader in a possible sequel. Tim Blake Nelson even "signed on" to reprise his role in two more films.
