During the 1930s, the Menominee people received funds from federal New Deal programs such as the Works Progress Administration (WPA) and Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC). These funds supported building the Woodland Bowl, an outdoor amphitheater in Keshena. They also helped start the annual Menominee pageants.
