Feb 15, 2024 · I cannot think of a single credentialed gun expert still living who recommends Condition Two with a 1911 or other single-action semiautomatic pistol. Condition Two is best reserved for its natural habitat, the double-action semi-auto, and even then, is safest when the decocking lever is employed to lower the hammer, rather than doing so by hand.

Mar 22, 2021 · With that said, if you are looking for a good entry 1911 or a 1911 to "build on" the Colts or Springfield GI models would be a good starting point. You can then add on parts from Wilson Combat, Nighthawk, Ed Brown or any other 1911 parts maker youd like. 1911's are great gun. They just require a bit more attention and care than the polymer stuff.

Aug 16, 2015 · Three SIG 1911's here, two in 45 ACP and one in 357 SIG, all perfect, not a misfeed or failure in any. A lot of the SIG 1911 bashing comes from the purists that see a Series 80 and external extractor as the coming of the anti-Christ and haven't shot one.

Jul 16, 2023 · Proof is in the 45 pudding. I found recoil to be so similar to a steel 1911 I really can't say much about that. This is a carry 1911 if one was so inclined and would provide excellent accuracy in self defense distances. It can shoot very quickly and still stay on target. If you are looking for a lightweight 1911, give the Ruger a try.

Jul 18, 2017 · I like seeing higher powered semi autos though. While the 460 Rowland will not match a full house 44 magnum, it seems to be a good compromise. It works, allows for a comfortable grip, doesn't make the pistol overly large and allows for different ammo options from 45 ACP, +P, 45 Super and a few different loadings in 460.

At the end of it all one bad guy down one bullet lost i consider that a fair trade. Its a pistol plain and simple. Take away the slide and grips and you have a sig sauer 1911 pistol.

Mar 21, 2019 · I'm asking about the physical pistol itself, not California laws or drop test requirements. I'm thinking about buying the 1911 Target Full Size (1911-45-S-TGT-CA). The only model is the "California Compliant" model. I live in Texas and don't want a 1911 with some weird mechanical gizmo on my 1911 pistol. Guys at the range will laugh at me.
