After falling just short at the Kentucky Derby two weeks earlier, 3-year-old colt Journalism won the 150th Preakness Stakes in a photo finish at the old Pimlico Race Course in Baltimore, Maryland.

Journalism, who was toward the middle of the pack for most of Saturday’s Preakness Stakes, pulled ahead in the final leg to win the race. Right before the race, Journalism was listed as the 6-5 favorite on NBC after finishing second behind Sovereignty — who was not running in the Preakness — in the Kentucky Derby.
