Los Angeles Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert showed up at training camp this week with red eyes. Strange sentence to put out there, yet true. Herbert told reporters like ESPN’s Kris Rhim during a press conference that the red contact lenses offer UV protection.
Justin Herbert was seeing red on Thursday morning. The Chargers quarterback wore red-tinted contacts that are UV protected lenses, making his blue eyes look like a different color. Herbert said after practice that he tried a tinted visor in his helmet a few years ago but didn't like how often he had to clean it.
