Aaron Rodgers is trying to develop a rapport with a star receiver — and a potential teammate. The unsigned QB met met up with Steelers wideout D.K. Metcalf over the weekend to run some routes and have a throwing session at UCLA, per NFL Network’s Mike Garofalo.
"I don't know that we've approached it from a deadline perspective," Tomlin detailed, per The Athletic's Mike DeFabo. "Certainly, as I mentioned, you'd like to have settled circumstances. But, you know, deadlines don't often bring that to a head."
Pittsburgh is still searching for an established starting option under center to throw to Metcalf and George Pickens, though. Mason Rudolph and Skylar Thompson are the only quarterbacks on the team's current roster, with both players serving as depth options throughout their respective careers.
