California's governor is taking Fox News to court in a personal capacity, accusing the network of defamation over comments related to the deployment of the National Guard to Los Angeles.

The lawsuit centers primarily on a segment in which Watters claimed the Democratic governor lied about a conversation with Trump ahead of the president's move to deploy the National Guard.

The governor alleges Fox News host Jesse Watters claimed that he lied about his phone calls with Trump, who ordered National Guard troops to L.A. earlier this month.
