Indianapolis Public Schools' student information and employee Social Security details were leaked this week as part of a nationwide cybersecurity breach affecting school districts that use PowerSchool information management software.

In an FAQ obtained by TechCrunch, PowerSchool confirms it negotiated with the threat actors responsible for the breach.

The education software vendor said a hacker may have downloaded addresses, social security numbers and medical conditions in December.
