Arsenal suffered their first defeat of pre-season as they were beaten by Tottenham. Spurs were 1-0 winners in the first-ever north London derby to be staged overseas, with the match taking place in Hong Kong. Pape Matar Sarr scored the only goal of the game just before the break, scoring from just inside the Arsenal half.

The Spurs midfielder scored the game’s only goal in the 45th minute, spotting David Raya off his line and lobbing him from a long, long way out. There was a decent tempo to the game in the first half but both sides lost their rhythm a little in the second.
