Dave Sims began as a newspaper reporter before transitioning to TV and radio, including as a host in the early years of WFAN.

Sterling, 86, retired from the Yankees’ radio booth a few games into the 2024 season. Justin Shackil and Emmanuel Berbari then handled the majority of the remaining regular season games alongside Waldman before Sterling unretired for the Yankees’ playoff run to the World Series.

WFAN, the flagship radio station for the Yankees since 2014, has been searching for Sterling's replacement, and they've now found their guy. Dave Sims, who was the Mariners announcer on Root Sports since 2007, will take over Sterling's duty on WFAN beginning in 2025.
