Trump has openly criticized Zelenskyy a number of times, arguing he has held up a potential peace plan by refusing to cede parts of the country to Russia. Trump notably attacked Zelenskyy in a major clash during an Oval Office meeting, where the U.S. president and Vice President JD Vance berated Zelenskyy and called him “disrespectful.”
