Oklahoma's safety room is one of the deeper position groups on the team. With roster limits changing in college football, it's not surprising to see some attrition. According to 247Sports and Sooners Illustrated's Collin Kennedy,

Jones was a five-star prospect and the No. 2 edge player in the country in the 2022 Recruiting Class, according to 247Sports. He held an offer from Oklahoma and was being recruited by former outside linebackers coach Jamar Cain before Cain left in the wake of the Lincoln Riley to Brent Venables coaching changes.

LSU defensive lineman Kimo Makane'ole is entering the transfer portal, according to a report Friday from 247Sports. Makane'ole made one tackle in 10 games as a backup this season. He has one more year of eligibility.

Defensive back Mykel Patterson-McDonald will enter the transfer portal, per Collin Kennedy of 247 Sports. Patterson-McDonald was a freshman in 2024. Patterson-McDonald is a native of Moore, OK, who came to Norman with high expectations.
