The widow and friends of the recently passed rocker Rick Derringer are planning an all-star tribute show for Aug. 5 in Daytona Beach.

He worked with a wide range of acts including Steely Dan and Ringo Starr, and he produced "Weird Al" Yankovic's first six albums.

Rick Derringer, the rock guitarist and singer best known for the 1965 chart-topping hit “Hang On Sloopy,” died on May 26, 2025, at the age of 77 in Ormond Beach, Florida.
