A climate change group has submitted a suggestion to Welsh government officials to create dog-free zones in an effort to combat racism, according to reports.

The Welsh government has been told to ban dogs from the countryside in a bid to tackle racism. It comes as part of the government's plans to end racism in Wales by 2030, ensuring that "all areas" of public life are transformed.

The recommendation has been put to the Welsh government in a report responding to its anti-racism action plan. But the goal of the dog-free areas is unclear.

Conservatives called the proposals "completely out of touch" and said Labour is "stuck on yesterday's thinking".
