Philadelphia 76ers coach Nick Nurse shared a cautious update on the possible season debut for injured veteran forward Paul George.
The Philadelphia 76ers are just 3-4 in their last seven games, but they reportedly could be getting some firepower back in the near future.
According to Shams Charania, 76ers’ Paul George is in the final stage of his debut process and will be re-evaluated later this week.
George’s imminent return figures to push Trendon Watford to the bench, where he’ll battle with Jabari Walker in a quiet tournament for the backup 4 job. Tyrese Maxey, VJ Edgecombe, Kelly Oubre Jr. and Embiid should all be locked-in starters when healthy, while Andre Drummond is proving plenty capable in spot starts whenever Embiid is out.
The Philadelphia 76ers have been off to a solid start this season, but a key piece of their championship puzzle has been missing. Star forward Paul George has yet to make his season debut as he recovers from offseason surgery on his left knee.
Paul George underwent an arthroscopic procedure on his left knee in July. He has yet to make his 2025-26 season debut.
With that in mind, it's no surprise that Marion couldn't think of a player in today's NBA whom he could compare to himself back in the day. However, the four-time All-Star thinks Kawhi Leonard and Paul George have something in their game that are probably the closest thing to his unique style of play.
