Chris Kreider was placed on injured reserve by the Rangers on Tuesday because of an upper-body injury. The forward was a late scratch for a 6-2 win against the Chicago Blackhawks on Sunday.

In a corresponding move, the Rangers called up Matt Rempe, who was sent down to Hartford on Monday when Arthur Kaliyev got claimed off waivers. Rempe still needs to sit out one more game after being suspended eight games for boarding and elbowing Dallas' Miro Heiskanen back on Dec. 20.
