Two Rutherford County mayors propose a future public solid waste solution and oppose expansion of the private Middle Point Landfill.

After 30 years collecting trash from other counties, the city of Murfreesboro and Rutherford County have said, “Enough is enough.” With Middle Point Landfill set to reach capacity within four years, city and county leaders said they want to take action and prepare for what’s next when it comes to trash.
