On Wednesday at 4:53 p.m. the National Weather Service issued an updated flood warning valid from Thursday 9 p.m. until Saturday 9:03 a.m. for Clackamas County.

The National Weather Service issued the flash flood warning on Monday due to a levee breach in Tukwila, a suburb of Seattle located in King County. An evacuation notice is in effect for parts of King County.

Two levees have failed outside of Seattle since Monday due to swollen rivers from seemingly endless heavy rain.

Any relief from the state would be slim. Bexar County is eligible for up to $1 million — which would cover just a sliver of the pricey system — as part of a grant program that Texas legislators approved in the recent special session. It sets aside $50 million for counties to upgrade or install flood warning sirens and systems.

Cracks, fractures or erosion in walls, slumps in earth embankments, broken or blocked drainage systems and overgrown vegetation can all lead to a lower score, according to the Local Democracy Reporting Service.

Pinellas County commissioners on Tuesday unanimously approved plans for a housing development that would replace a frequently flooded Gandy mobile home park.
