A day after announcing he's officially running for mayor as an independent, a totally different Andrew Cuomo hit the campaign trail.

The Zohran Mamdani victory in the Democratic mayoral primary last month was a big surprise for the New York political class, but it also sent shock waves rattling Democratic leaders coast to coast.

“We had not been fund-raising post-primary while we figured out our next steps,” said Rich Azzopardi, a spokesman for Mr. Cuomo.
