The Chicago area is under a flash flood watch for hours as another round of heavy rain and possible storms arrives in the region Wednesday.

CHICAGO - Today, the Chicago area will have multiple rounds of rain and storms moving through. A few of the storms may be strong to severe, with damaging winds possible. With the continued potential for heavy rain, there is also the chance of flooding in Chicagoland. 12:45 p.m. - Storms have arrived in Chicago's far southwest and south suburbs.

Heavy rain that may cause flooding is expected both Thursday and Friday. A flood watch has been issued for most of the region from 2 p.m. Thursday through 2 p.m. Friday. Wednesday's high of 95 degrees in Central Park officially solidified the second heatwave of the summer for New York City.
