UEFA has confirmed the death of a spectator during Portugal’s Nations League final win against Spain in Munich on Sunday. Paramedics and stadium stewards attended an incident in the final minutes of the game at the Allianz Arena when a supporter fell from the second tier of the main stand onto the seating area below.

The fan fell from the central tier during the first period of extra time into the press box in the lower tier, with paramedics and police rushing to the scene for help. A UEFA spokesperson said there had been a “medical emergency” and confirmed that a fan had “sadly” died during the match.
