India's Vodafone Idea reported a bigger-than-expected second-quarter loss on Wednesday, weighed down by a shrinking user base.

Vodafone Idea reported a smaller loss of Rs 7,176 crore in the September quarter, helped by tariff increases that boosted revenue to Rs 10,932 crore. Despite an 8% rise, its ARPU of Rs 166 still trails rivals Jio and Airtel.

Cash EBITDA excluding the impact of Ind AS 116 increased to ₹2,320 Crore, the highest since the merger, up 10% quarter on quarter.

Mumbai: Vodafone Idea’s net loss widened to Rs 7176 crore in the fiscal second quarter, FY25, from Rs6432 crore in the previous quarter, as the telco continued to be dragged by customer losses, though the recent headline rate hike of July helped it report some sequential revenue growth.

On the last trading day, Vodafone Idea’s stock opened at ₹7.89 and closed at ₹8.14. The stock reached a high of ₹8.20 and a low of ₹7.81 during the trading session.
