Former New Orleans Saints safety and ALS activist Steve Gleason shared his enjoyment over social media after returning home from a local hospital following a medical event.

Steve Gleason may have been a tough football player on the Saints, but he has been a true warrior post-retirement.

He has spent the last 13 years fighting the disease, which affects nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord. He currently breathes through a ventilator and communicates using his eyes.
