An elderly woman in Israel was killed in a knife attack on Friday, medics said. She was taken to hospital unconscious and with multiple stab wounds, the Magen David Adom rescue service said. The hospital pronounced her dead upon arrival.

The Israeli military said several people were lightly injured after its air defenses failed to intercept the projectile, which struck a playground in the city.
