Purdue is coming off a 1-11 season, but brings in head coach Barry Odom, who helped the UNLV Rebels win eleven games last season and nine the year before. The Boilermakers will look significantly different this season, with over 40 transfers joining the program in the hopes of giving the team a boost.

The Gophers should be strong in the trenches on both sides of the ball. Ashton Beers returns as the starting center while Greg Johnson shores up the interior of the line. Darius Taylor, who led the team in rushing last season, will have a strong line to work behind.
