After Jayden Daniels and the Washington Commanders narrowly beat Michael Penix Jr. and the Atlanta Falcons, the NFC Playoff picture has gotten a bit clearer.

The final AFC playoff spot is up for grabs with the Broncos facing a win-and-in Week 18. If they lose, the Bengals and Dolphins are lurking.

The next-to-final week in the NFL — Week 17! — is here for the 2024 season. And while the current NFL playoff picture is pretty clear in AFC (five of the seven teams have clinched spots) and the NFC (three spots are available), that means there are still squads that are very much alive heading into the penultimate week of regular-season action.

The Philadelphia Eagles are NFC East champions, the Indianapolis Colts were eliminated from the AFC playoff race, and both the Washington Commanders and Los Angeles Rams earned playoff spots. And the NFC race will now come down to a winner-take-all battle in the NFC North.
