For the next week or so, Kris Bryant will be restricted to not much more than a casual walk as he recovers from a procedure to fix his chronically bothersome back.

Still attempting to return to baseball, Kris Bryant came back to the Colorado Rockies clubhouse on Saturday after undergoing an ablation procedure in an attempt to alleviate the pain he has felt in his lower back from lumbar degenerative disc disease.

The Rockies’ oft-injured designated hitter is scheduled to undergo an ablation on his lower back in L.A. on Thursday, hoping the procedure will help him get back on the field. Bryant, 33, has been on the injured list since April 13 with what the club calls “lumbar degenerative disc disease.”
