Officials say Ukraine was under an ongoing Russian ballistic missile and drone attack early Friday that wounded at least three people.

Russia’s overnight assault used 407 drones—one of the largest single-day drone barrages in the conflict to date—along with 45 cruise and ballistic missiles, Ukraine’s air force reported.

Russia says the 'massive attack' on Kyiv was in retaliation to Ukrainian strikes. It comes after the Kremlin launched a wave of drone strikes on Ukraine’s capital late on Thursday night, forcing residents to flee underground to shelter. Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported that the assault was comprised of more than 400 drones and 40 missiles.
