Show' host's comments came shortly before it was announced that CBS has canceled 'The Late Show With Stephen Colbert.'

Jimmy Fallon, Seth Meyers, Jon Stewart and John Oliver joined Weird Al Yankovic and Lin-Manuel Miranda to support Stephen Colbert after 'The Late Show's' cancellation by appearing in a segment inspired by the Coldplay kiss-cam incident.

While DC Studios is keeping most plot details regarding the Lanterns series under wraps, James Gunn has revealed which of Kyle Chandler’s Hal Jordan or Aaron Pierre’s John Stewart will serve as the premiere Green Lantern in the upcoming HBO Max outing.

"I reached out to him, and I remember… he called me back. I was in a hotel room in Portland," Maron recalled. "And he goes, ‘Hey, you know, it's, it's Jon Stewart.' I'm like, ‘Hey man, how you doing?'" Maron then proceeded to explain the podcast he was doing and invited him to participate. Stewart replied, "I'm not doing that."

Bill Simmons said it was “in play” for Jon Stewart to quit The Daily Show on-air in response to the canceling of Stephen Colbert’s show. Last week, CBS announced the cancellation of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.
