The National Hurricane Center has issued advisories for Tropical Depression 19 in the western Caribbean Sea. A Hurricane Watch is in effect for Punta Castilla to the Honduras/Nicaragua Border and the Bay Islands of Honduras. Tropical Storm Sara formed this afternoon and threatens to bring "life-threatening and potentially catastrophic flash flooding and mudslides" to Honduras throughout the weekend, according to the latest update from the National Hurricane Center. A turn toward Florida is still possible, forecasters said.

Hurricane and tropical storm watches were issued for Honduras and Nicaragua on Wednesday as meteorologists warned that an area of storms in the Caribbean Sea could deliver significant, life-threatening flash flooding and mudslides across portions of Central America through the weekend.
