James Norton has been tapped to portray Ormund Hightower in Season 3 of HBO's House of the Dragon, Deadline has learned.

James Norton has been signed for the role of Ormund Hightower in HBO's House of the Dragon in its forthcoming third season.

House of the Dragon has added Happy Valley star James Norton to its season 3 cast. The Game of Thrones prequel series was renewed for a third instalment last summer, before season two had even been released.

Season 3 of House of the Dragon will begin filming this year, but fans may have to wait until 2026 to watch it. Rhys Ifans hinted at the start of shooting for season three, portraying Ser Otto Hightower in the series.

Season 3 of House of the Dragon is rumored to take the same format as the previous season with eight episodes.

House of the Dragon Season 2 was light on the action but heavy on the intrigue. Most fans assumed that the first season was going to be the build-up to the Dance of the Dragons, and Season 2 would include multiple bloody battles between the Blacks and the Greens.
