Writer Porter's star is on the rise: An adaptation of his debut novel "Grief Is the Thing with Feathers" world premiered at Sundance in January 2025, retitled "The Thing with Feathers" and starring Benedict Cumberbatch as a father raising his sons after the sudden death of his wife. Porter's novel "Shy" was a major bestseller in the U.K.

The film's score, created by Ben Salisbury and Geoff Barrow, is expected to intensify the already high-stakes atmosphere. Set for release in select cinemas on September 19, before its global Netflix premiere on October 3, Steve is already generating a wave of anticipation.
