Former Saints safety and ALS advocate Steve Gleason has returned home after spending six nights in the hospital following a medical event last week.

The former New Orleans Saints standout was hospitalized on Sept. 11 after a medical event during Hurricane Francine in New Orleans.

Former Saints defensive back Steve Gleason is back home after spending the last six nights in the hospital. Gleason posted a picture to social media of himself and his family outside their home looking at a full moon. Gleason wrote that he felt “reborn” seeing it after being in the hospital.

Steve Gleason may have been a tough football player on the Saints, but he has been a true warrior post-retirement.

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - Steve Gleason is back home after spending nearly a week in the hospital. Gleason shared photos on social media Tuesday night, showing him at home with his wife and children. “I’ve been inside for six days, so to be greeted by the full (moon), the Oaks, and our family ... Reborn,” the post read.
