The 2025-26 Premier League table is live, as 19 teams hope to be the one that denies Liverpool repeat status as champions of England's top tier.
This week’s Alternative Table will use both metrics as its qualifier, helping us see how teams have progressed or regressed at both ends of the pitch. The first column is xG difference, which subtracts goals scored from xG, while the second (xGA difference) does the same with goals conceded.

We’re approaching the halfway point of the 2025-26 Premier League season at the point at which point all of the ‘big six’ sides – Arsenal, Chelsea, Tottenham, Liverpool, Manchester City and Manchester United – will have played one another. But which side has the best record in these marquee games? The results might surprise you.
As an example: title-chasing Manchester City had an xG of 2.47 against Wolverhampton Wanderers in their opening match of the 2025/26 season – rounding down to 2. Wolves had an xG of 0.56, rounding up to 1. As a result, the final xG result was Man City 2–1 Wolves.
The English Premier League has reached Matchday 16 and from Saturday, Dec. 13 through Monday, Dec. 15 matches are scheduled to take place.
