China complains about Japanese official visiting Taiwan as Taipei pushes for cooperation
China has lodged a diplomatic complaint with Japan regarding the visit by a high-ranking official of Japan's ruling Liberal Democratic Party to Taiwan, the Chinese foreign ministry said on Monday, as ties between the countries strain further.
Japan is threatening China militarily which is "completely unacceptable", Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi told his German counterpart, after Japan said that Chinese fighter jets had aimed their radar at Japanese military aircraft.
It is the first time the U.S. has criticized China for aiming radars at Japanese military aircraft as the diplomatic spat between Beijing and Tokyo shows no sign of easing.
