Per a report by ESPN's Adam Schefter, the Niners are cutting defensive lineman Drake Jackson, who they selected with the 61st pick in the second round of the 2022 NFL Draft.

In a surprising move, the San Francisco 49ers are waiving outside linebacker and former second-round pick Drake Jackson with a failed physical designation, according to ESPN. Jackson is rehabbing a knee injury but is expected to be cleared by training camp, per the report.

The 49ers chose Jackson in the 2022 second round. He missed all of the 2024 season. Jackson made 23 San Francisco appearances overall, recording 21 tackles, six sacks and an interception. San Francisco adding to its pass-rushing group in the first round this year with Mykel Williams. The 49ers are led up front by Nick Bosa.
