A United Airlines flight headed for Los Angeles from Hawaii was diverted Tuesday after a 'potential security concern' was found in the plane bathroom, according to the airline.

A United Airlines flight bound for Los Angeles returned to Honolulu early Wednesday morning after what federal authorities described as a security issue. In a statement, the FAA said United Airlines Flight 1169 was heading to LAX when it returned to Daniel K.

A message scrawled on a bathroom mirror resulted in a flight between Hawaii and California being diverted this week. Another flight between the two states was also halted due to a bomb threat.
