In a string of record-breaking milestones, the Solo Leveling franchise has achieved yet another unexpected feat. Netflix has officially announced that a live-action adaptation of the global sensation is currently in development.

Hunters are graded by their innate abilities and thus are stuck in their ranks for life. Or so they thought. The story centers on Sung Jinwoo, who is described as a “weak" E-rank hunter at the beginning of the story, but who climbs his way up the ranks after gaining extraordinary powers following a near-death experience.

The streaming giant continues its push into high-end Korean genre fare with a live-action remake of the blockbuster webtoon and anime hit.
