SAN PEDRO SULA, Honduras — Tropical Storm Sara started moving slightly faster Saturday after it stalled over Honduras, drenching the northern coast of the Central American nation, swelling rivers and trapping some people at home.

It moved back out into the Caribbean overnight and by Friday morning it was located just south of the island of Roatan.

Follow Saturday's updates on Sara's forecast and flooding The National Hurricane Center said Friday afternoon that Tropical Storm Sara is meandering near the northern coast of Honduras and that heavy rainfall from the storm is likely to cause "life-threatening" flash flooding and mudslides into early next week for portions of Central America.

With atmospheric steering currents in near total collapse, Sara has been essentially adrift while streaming a constant river of tropical moisture into the vulnerable countrysides with over 30 inches of rain so far in some areas.
