The hackers who attacked St. Paul’s city online services about two weeks ago dumped their stolen data online Monday after the city refused to pay an unspecified ransom. On Monday, the city said the hacking group – identified as Interlock – made off with 43 gigabytes of the city’s 153 terabytes of data.

The mayor of Saint Paul, Minnesota's capital city, has confirmed that the Interlock ransomware gang is responsible for a cyberattack that disrupted many of the city's systems and services in July.

A ransomware attack is what prompted St. Paul officials to proactively shut down the city's information systems more than two weeks ago. Mayor Melvin Carter confirmed on Sunday that the person or people behind the attack demanded a specific sum of money and threatened to release data,
